Austin, TX, February 7, 2008 – UT business honors student Vic Ramon just launched a new student tutoring service at the University of Texas at Austin. Students who need help can now hire another student to tutor them who has already taken the same class and excelled at it. The tutors are carefully screened and interviewed to ensure quality. Interested clients can book a tutoring session online at UTTutors.com. Clients and tutors meet in the FAC. They are charging $15/hour.
UT Tutors has several advantages over the UTLC. You can book a last minute session with UT Tutors, you can get tutored any time (even late at night), and they have tutors for every subject.
Many clients have already signed up and booked sessions. Vic is looking for more tutors in every subject because he is expecting huge demand in the coming months. Once he gets UT Tutors set up, he plans to take his business model to campuses across the country.
Vic started a similar tutoring service in August 2006 at his high school, Highland Park High School, in Dallas, TX. He won the Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award from TCU and the McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Award in 2007 for his business, Highland Park Tutors.
